About Me

I describe myself as a Concerned Constitutional Conservative Catholic Mom. Years ago, I had no clue about politics and often times I just want to crawl back under my “ignorance is bliss” rock. I don’t want to get discouraged or downtrodden, so I try to be a Happy Warrior in this battle for truth. It’s not the easy path, but it’s the right one.

Once I discovered the mess that our country is in, and I realize that in many ways my own ignorance and apathy played a role in creating it, I felt responsible for taking a part in trying to clean it up. I’ll go down with my mop in hand, wearing the full armour of God as my shield and the belt of truth buckled around my waist.

Ephesians 6:13-18

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

  1. I was told by the Principle of St. Joseph in Hanover that my son could not opt out of the Iowa Standardized Tests. I thought this untrue since there is a state law stating I can.

    1. Hi .. Sorry for delay. I am really not sure how Diocese is obligated to state to the tests .. I know with homeschooling, all children in 3rd grade must take a standardized test, it does not have to be the state tests, but that the results do not count towards anything nor are they submitted to the state or the school district as part of the portfolio. I would imagine the Dioces is under the same rules … But I wonder they they report the results to the state. The Diocese needs to extricate itself from the state … Do Amish children have to take standardized tests or are they exempt from all this nonsense from the PDE, & US DOE?
